Forest Walks & Community Encounters, Transfer to Lake Kivu
The morning is spent exploring Gishwati’s forest trails, observing L’Hoest’s monkeys, blue monkeys, and vibrant bird species. After lunch, travellers continue to Lake Kivu for an afternoon of lakeside relaxation. Overnight at Paradise Kivu Lodge, Cleaver’s Cottage, or Lake Kivu Serena Hotel for added comfort.
Lake Kivu Retreat & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
A slow morning invites kayaking, boat rides, or a peaceful nature walk along the shores of Lake Kivu. After a relaxed lunch, the journey continues to Volcanoes National Park. Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
The day begins with a guided gorilla trekking experience, where the forest is entered to find and observe one of the habituated gorilla families. The afternoon is spent at leisure, with optional cultural visits around Kinigi. Overnight at the same lodge.
Optional Activities & Return to Kigali
Travellers may opt for golden monkey trekking, a visit to the Twin Lakes, or a relaxed morning at the lodge. After lunch, the route back to Kigali concludes the eco retreat before airport or hotel drop-off.
The best time to go on a safari is during the dry seasons, when wildlife gathers around water sources and sightings are more frequent and rewarding.
